Lesson 124

Let me remember I am one with God.

What this lesson is saying

Today’s idea is: “Let me remember I am one with God.” In ordinary English: Remember you are one with God. Forgetfulness is the only distance.

You are used to building a self from parents, work, the glass, the mood, the ranking of other people. This lesson says what you are was given, not achieved: as God created you, and so are they. That is not a compliment. It is a fact you practice when the other self-image is loud.

You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.

This is not saying

This is not a self-esteem project and not a claim that you are more powerful than God. You will not lose your personality. The sharp edges — the attack on you, the attack on them — can go.

Why this can change a day

If you are a private, failing self, then of course you must defend, compare, and prosecute. If you are as God created you, so is the one who irritated you, and the war has nothing left to stand on.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

A night sound, a what-if, a news item that starts fear — and you treat it as the teacher.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “Let me remember I am one with God.” Lock the door if a door should be locked. Care for the body. Then do not make the wave into a law about them, or about you.

  2. Toward yourself

You walk a familiar street, enter a familiar room, and the day is already decided.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “Let me remember I am one with God.” The day has not happened. Look at one actual thing, or one actual face, without the verdict. A minute. Then begin.

  3. At work, at home, or in a situation

The name that already crossed your mind — the one you still want to be different so you can rest.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “Let me remember I am one with God.” You already know the name. Hold the case for a moment. Then ask to see them without the shield. Keep any clear no. You do not have to be friends.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

This fear is information. Cancel the day. Stay small. The world is hunting me.

Jesus’s way

“Let me remember I am one with God.” Identity, not a mood. The same sentence is true of them. That is not a self-esteem project. You are not more powerful than God, so you can rest.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 124

Tina reads the official workbook lesson first. Then she channels. The video is the source. The notes below are study notes of that sitting — not a transcript, and not A Year of Forgiveness.

  • Let me remember I am one with God.
  • Not a trance.
  • When you remember, the passerby-mind returns.
  • When you forget, you play God again in traffic.

How to sit today

Part I · Forgiveness

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
One half hour at the time that seems best, plus hourly reminders
How long
Thirty minutes once today — unusual in the workbook. Do not split it if you can help it
Through the day
Hourly: “Let me remember I am one with God, at one with all my brothers and my Self.”

How

  1. Abide with Him this half hour. Nothing needs to happen. The gold is the time given, not an experience you manufacture.
  2. If you see nothing, you are not owed a refund. The sitting still counts.

Longer sitting

One half hour at the time that seems best. Do not split it if you can help it

  1. Today’s idea is: “Let me remember I am one with God.”
  2. Abide with Him this half hour. Nothing needs to happen. The gold is the time given, not an experience you manufacture.
  3. Say, slowly: “Let me remember I am one with God.”
  4. If you see nothing, you are not owed a refund. The sitting still counts.

Short / hourly

Hourly

  1. Say, slowly: “Let me remember I am one with God, at one with all my brothers and my Self.”

These scripts follow the workbook’s own method for this number — duration, frequency, and the sentences it asks you to use. They are a study paraphrase, not a replacement. Read the official lesson at acim.org and follow any wording it gives that is more specific than this card.

Ra

This lesson is practice in polarizing with the person in front of you. Service to others is not a slogan. It is whether you treat them as the same being you are.
