Workbook · Part II · What Is Forgiveness?
Lesson 221
Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.
What this lesson is saying
Part II begins. Today’s idea is a short prayer to inhabit, not a new argument. “Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.”
This sitting intimidates a culture that taught you hearing a Voice means you are insane. Fear and disbelief both block the communication. Enthusiasm and surrender open it. If resistance arises, note it. Listen anyway. The essay beside you is What Is Forgiveness? — not pardon, the end of the need to accuse.
This is not saying
This is not a trance you have to achieve, and not a diploma. Say the idea. Wait. Then whoever you meet is the application. Fear of the inner Voice is cultural. It is not a stop sign from God.
Why this can change a day
The first two hundred lessons trained the mind to take meaning off the world. Part II asks you to live as if the truth were already true. That is revolutionary because it stops the stall of “when I understand, then I will rest.”
In your day
Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.
In the sitting
Morning or evening. Fear of being still, or a hurry to get it over with.
What to do
Say the idea. Wait. Do not manufacture a voice. Kindness after you stand is a good test.
With someone
The first person you meet with a quieter mind — or the one you were about to rank.
What to do
Forgiveness as the essay means it: no one to accuse. Speak as you normally would, from that.
Toward yourself
The commentator starts again by 10 a.m.
What to do
Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still. Return. Forgetting is expected.
Two voices in the same mind
Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.
Unloving thought
Hearing a Voice means I am insane, or chosen, or both. Church and clinic both said so. I should not sit.
Jesus’s way
Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still. Fear and disbelief both block. A culture taught you that listening is madness. Note the fear. Listen anyway.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 221
Tina reads the official workbook lesson first. Then she channels. The video is the source. The notes below are study notes of that sitting — not a transcript, and not A Year of Forgiveness.

How to sit today
Part II · Restoration of sight
The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.
- How often
- Morning and night with God, as long as makes you happy; hourly remembrance; whenever you are tempted to forget the goal
- How long
- No clock is set in Part II. Use as much time as you need for the result you want. Words are a beginning; then wait
- Through the day
- Hourly remembrance in between. Call to God when you have need of Him.
How
- Say the simple words of the lesson (and the prayer it offers). Then wait in quiet expectation. He has promised to take the final step Himself.
- Before one of today’s holy instants, slowly read “What Is Forgiveness?” Keep that essay beside you until Lesson 231 gives the next.
Longer sitting
Morning and night with God. No clock is set. Use as much time as you need for the result you want. Continue as long as makes you happy
- Today’s idea is: “Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.”
- Say the day’s simple words of welcome — the idea, then the short prayer printed in the official lesson.
- Then wait. Words mean little now. They are guides you do not depend on. Sit silently and wait upon your Father.
- Do not turn the waiting into another technique for getting answers.
- Slowly read “What Is Forgiveness?” and think about it a little while, preceding one of today’s holy instants. Keep that essay until the next one is given.
Short / hourly
Hourly remembrance between the longer times
- A short return to today’s idea: “Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.”. Then a still moment.
When shaken
Whenever you are tempted to forget the goal
- Instead of fighting temptation, call. Instead of judging, be still and let all things be healed.
- Say, slowly: “Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.”
Keep the essay What Is Forgiveness? beside you until the next “What Is” is given.

If resistance arises, note it and dig the belief underneath — inherited from church, clinic, or family. Then listen for the Voice in silence anyway.
