What this lesson is saying
Today’s idea is: “The holy Christ is born in me today.” Let the true self surface again today. Birth here means remembering.
Part II is shorter on the page and longer in the sitting. The argument is over. You say the idea, you wait, then you meet whoever is in front of you. Keep the essay “What Is the Second Coming?” beside you until the next one is given. It is a sentence about you, not a new theory.

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.
With someone
You look at something you called ugly, annoying, or empty of God — and skip it.
What to do
Say the words as written: “The holy Christ is born in me today.” Say the idea to the thing you did not want to include. If you cannot feel it, say it anyway. The exception is the lesson.
Toward yourself
You notice you do not actually want to see — you want to be right. The day already feels decided.
What to do
Say the words as written: “The holy Christ is born in me today.” Determination is a decision, not a mood. Make it. Badly is allowed. Then look at one actual face or one actual thing.
At work, at home, or in a situation
A symptom, a doctor’s waiting room, a score you took as a verdict.
What to do

- Say the day’s simple words of welcome — the idea and the prayer in the official lesson. Then wait for Him to take the step to you that He promised.
- Words mean little now. They are guides you do not depend on. Seek direct experience. Sit silently and wait upon your Father.
- Slowly read “What Is the Second Coming?” and think about it a little while, preceding one of today’s holy instants. Continue that essay each day until the next one is given.
