Workbook · Part I
Lesson 35
My mind is part of God's. I am very holy.
What this lesson is saying
“My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.” Not a compliment. A fact the other self-image hid. You are not more powerful than God, so you can rest — and so can the one who irritated you.
Identity was built from parents’ fears, work, television, the glass. This lesson uses a bigger fact against that identity. Say it about you. Say it about them. Holiness here is not a halo. It is a mind that belongs to Love.
This is not saying
This is not a self-esteem project and not specialness. You will not lose your personality. The sharp edges can go. They are as God created them too — which does not require you to be friends.
Why this can change a day
If you are a private, unholy self, of course you must defend and prosecute. If your mind is part of God’s, so is theirs, and the war has nothing left to stand on.
In your day
Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.
Toward yourself
I am unholy, separate, not enough. The picture in the glass is the Self.
What to do
Say the idea about you. Then be decent. You do not have to feel holy.
With someone
You just judged them — at work, at home, in a line.
What to do
Say it about them. Then continue. You do not have to become their friend this hour.
In a situation
The day is asking you to prove yourself.
What to do
You are not more powerful than God, so you can rest inside the task. Do the work. Drop the identity-war.
Two voices in the same mind
Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.
Unloving thought
I am unholy, separate, not enough. They are too. Identity was built from parents’ fears and television. That is just how we are.
Jesus’s way
My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy. Not a compliment. A fact the overlay hid. You are not more powerful than God, so you can rest — and so can the one who irritated you.

How to sit today
Part I · Undoing
The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.
- How often
- Three five-minute sittings, plus as often as possible during the day
- How long
- Five minutes each
- Through the day
- Whenever you catch yourself ascribing an attribute to yourself, apply the idea to that attribute.
- Eyes
- Closed for the longer sittings
How
- Repeat the idea, close your eyes, and search for the descriptive terms in which you see yourself — physical, psychological, “good” or “bad.”
- To each: “My mind is part of God’s. I am very holy.” Add the attribute: “I am holy because…” is not the form — apply holiness to the self-image you found.

This lesson is practice in polarizing with the person in front of you. Service to others is not a slogan. It is whether you treat them as the same being you are.
