Lesson 42

God is my strength. Vision is His gift.

What this lesson is saying

Today’s idea is: “God is my strength. Vision is His gift.” In ordinary English: Strength is not yours to manufacture. Seeing clearly is a gift, not a talent.

Most of us treat seeing as the eyes reporting facts. This lesson says the mind is already writing a story on top of the report — mine, dangerous, ugly, important, “that’s just who they are.” Two people can look at the same face and have two different days. If you can take the story off for a minute, you are not stuck with yesterday’s version of them, or of you.

You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.

This is not saying

This is not telling you to go blind, or that the room is fake, or that nothing matters. The table is there. The person is there. What you added — the verdict — is what the lesson is after.

Why this can change a day

If the first look is already a judgment, then every conversation, every meeting, every glance in a glass is already a trial. Taking the story off is how a different hour becomes possible without anyone else changing first.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

You are about to punish with silence, a look, a remark at the door.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “God is my strength. Vision is His gift.” Wait. If a fact is needed, say only the fact. Leave the wish to hurt. You do not have to stay in the room.

  2. Toward yourself

Tomorrow is on trial — a meeting, a what-if, a verdict not yet in — and this hour is already lost.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “God is my strength. Vision is His gift.” Make the one plan that is actually due. Come back. This hour has a next step. Take it. Leave the later hour.

  3. At work, at home, or in a situation

The year, or the sitting, feels finished — a certificate, a rest from seeing, judgment can come back.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “God is my strength. Vision is His gift.” This instant — not a diploma. Give it. You will take it back when the judgment starts. Give it again. The commentary ends. The practice does not.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

They started it. A sharp edge would settle this. If I wait I will be a doormat.

Jesus’s way

“God is my strength. Vision is His gift.” Use the idea on what the eyes actually have — including the face you already decided about. No exceptions for what you like or dislike.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 42

Tina reads the official workbook lesson first. Then she channels. The video is the source. The notes below are study notes of that sitting — not a transcript, and not A Year of Forgiveness.

  • Vision is His gift.” Not the church’s God of threat.
  • He uses the lesson to wean you from a God who was an overlay, so the One who is can be obvious.
  • After Tina reads Lesson 42, the channeling is living “God is my strength. Vision is His gift.” He will not let it stay a slogan. Use these words. Do not swap them for a thought you like better.

How to sit today

Part I · Undoing

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
Two longer sittings: as soon as possible after waking, and as close as possible to sleep — plus unlimited short ones
How long
Three to five minutes
Through the day
There is no limit on how many short repetitions would help.

How

  1. Eyes open, looking about, repeat the idea slowly. Then related thoughts may come. If they do not, alternate open-eyed and closed-eyed slow repetitions. Do not strain to manufacture thoughts.

Love/light is the stuff of the octave. Seeing with God is not metaphor — it is a shift toward that spectrum. Meditation (session 10) is the daily tool.
