Lesson 46

God is the Love in which I forgive.

What this lesson is saying

Today’s idea is: “God is the Love in which I forgive.” In ordinary English: You forgive in God’s love, not in your nobility. Dropping the grievance is the forgiveness.

A grievance is any thought that they have wronged you, failed you, or should be different so you can rest — or that you are not enough. Forgiveness here is not saying the event was fine. It is dropping the claim that the event gets to tell you what they are, or what you are. You can still leave. You can still say no. You stop using them as the reason you cannot be at peace.

You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.

This is not saying

This is not asking you to be friends, to stay in harm, or to call a harm a blessing. Keep any clear no. The work is in the mind: stop raising the case as a shield.

Why this can change a day

The usual rule is: I will rest when they change. This lesson reverses it. The grievance is what hides peace, not their behavior. That is why a small irritation and a long history use the same mechanism, and why one dropped case can change a whole day.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

Someone you merely overlook — not an enemy, just not important enough to see.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “God is the Love in which I forgive.” Look at one you called important and one you called background. Take both votes back for one look. That is the lesson.

  2. Toward yourself

You skipped the sitting because the 3D hour felt more real than the idea.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “God is the Love in which I forgive.” Return. Forgetting is expected. Use it on the very next judgment, of them or of you. Then go on. The sitting is the day.

  3. At work, at home, or in a situation

You walk a familiar street, enter a familiar room, and the day is already decided.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “God is the Love in which I forgive.” The day has not happened. Look at one actual thing, or one actual face, without the verdict. A minute. Then begin.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

Some people matter. Some don’t. Not my business. Ranking is how a day gets done.

Jesus’s way

“God is the Love in which I forgive.” A grievance is any thought that they have wronged you, failed you, or should be different so you can rest. The miracle is already there. The grievance is the shield. Lay it down. You do not have to hang out with them.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 46

This is the channeled portion — after Tina has read the lesson. Study notes of that sitting. Not a transcript.

  • On “God is the Love in which I forgive” he is economic: forgiveness is more practical than the projects you think will save you.
  • You have to drop the grievance so miracles and health can get through.
  • After Tina reads Lesson 46, the channeling is living “God is the Love in which I forgive.” He will not let it stay a slogan. Use these words. Do not swap them for a thought you like better.
  • He is unsentimental: you do not have to befriend them. You have to drop the exhibit so love can move. Gossip about them costs you the sitting.

How to sit today

Part I · Undoing

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
At least three full five-minute sittings, and as many shorter applications as possible
How long
Five minutes
Eyes
Closed

How

  1. Repeat the idea with eyes closed. Spend a minute or two searching for those you have not forgiven — including yourself.
  2. Hold each one and apply God’s Love as the meaning of forgiveness. End with the idea in its original form.

Longer sitting

At least three full five-minute sittings

  1. Today’s idea is: “God is the Love in which I forgive.”
  2. Repeat the idea with eyes closed.
  3. Say, slowly: “God is the Love in which I forgive.”
  4. Spend a minute or two searching for those you have not forgiven — including yourself.
  5. Hold each one:
  6. Say, slowly: “God’s Love is the only meaning of [name]’s errors, and the only meaning of my own.”
  7. End with the idea in its original form.

Short / hourly

As many shorter applications as possible

  1. Say, slowly: “God is the Love in which I forgive.”
