Lesson 48

There is nothing to fear.

What this lesson is saying

Today’s idea is: “There is nothing to fear.” In ordinary English: There is nothing to fear. Feel the wave anyway. Then stand in the idea.

Fear presents itself as information about the world: cancel the day, stay small, they are dangerous, I am in danger. This lesson treats fear as a wave in the mind, not as a law. Feel it. Care for the body. Then do not make the wave into a story about them, or about you.

You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.

This is not saying

This is not telling you to skip locks, rest, or a practitioner. Practical care is allowed. Using fear as the teacher of what they are, or what you are, is what the lesson undoes.

Why this can change a day

If fear gets to name reality, then every relationship and every task is already a threat. Standing in the idea while the body startles is how you find out the startle was not God.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

Anger or fear is on — this spike, now — and you are about to rehearse the argument.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “There is nothing to fear.” Say the idea to the spike. Wait until the body drops half an inch. Then choose the next sentence from there. The caveat is the work.

  2. Toward yourself

A family member’s tone, a look, a holiday remark — and the old file opens.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “There is nothing to fear.” The event can be remembered. The verdict can wait. One uncluttered look. Then speak as you normally would.

  3. At work, at home, or in a situation

You want peace, and you also want them to feel it — peace and the war in the same hour.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “There is nothing to fear.” If you want peace and the grievance, you want the grievance. Name the extra: being right, being owed. Put it down. Keep a clear no.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

This fear is the teacher. Cancel the day. Stay small. Fear is information about the world.

Jesus’s way

There is nothing to fear. Feel the wave. Hold the idea as the other pole. Practical care is allowed. The story is not the teacher.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 48

Tina reads the official workbook lesson first. Then she channels. The video is the source. The notes below are study notes of that sitting — not a transcript, and not A Year of Forgiveness.

  • “There is nothing to fear.” Fear is trained — parents, pulpits, screens.
  • He treats it as a belief you are still loyal to, not as a message from reality.
  • Do the idea when the fear is on, or you only studied peace.

How to sit today

Part I · Undoing

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
Very short, very simple, very frequent — as often as possible
How long
A minute or so with eyes closed whenever you can, repeating the idea slowly several times

How

  1. Merely repeat “There is nothing to fear.” No long sittings today. Frequency is the exercise.

This lesson is practice in polarizing with the person in front of you. Service to others is not a slogan. It is whether you treat them as the same being you are.
