Workbook · Part I

Lesson 50

I am sustained by the Love of God.

What this lesson is saying

Today’s idea is: “I am sustained by the Love of God.” In ordinary English: You are held by Love, including when you feel unseen, tired, or overlooked.

You are used to building a self from parents, work, the glass, the mood, the ranking of other people. This lesson says what you are was given, not achieved: as God created you, and so are they. That is not a compliment. It is a fact you practice when the other self-image is loud.

You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.

This is not saying

This is not a self-esteem project and not a claim that you are more powerful than God. You will not lose your personality. The sharp edges — the attack on you, the attack on them — can go.

Why this can change a day

If you are a private, failing self, then of course you must defend, compare, and prosecute. If you are as God created you, so is the one who irritated you, and the war has nothing left to stand on.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

Someone cut you off, a line did not move, a tone in a shop — a fictitious anger.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “I am sustained by the Love of God.” Name the official reason. Set it down. One breath without the story that they caused your aloneness. Then the next useful thing.

  2. Toward yourself

An ex, an old friend, a name you still use as a wound.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “I am sustained by the Love of God.” Remember the event if you must. Stop using it as the law of now. This person is not that hour. You do not have to call them.

  3. At work, at home, or in a situation

You are kind in the room and cruel in the mind — a smile, and a case running underneath.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “I am sustained by the Love of God.” You are not alone in the effects of your thoughts. Catch the case. Choose a different one. Then the smile can be true.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

Of course I am upset — look at them. Anyone would be. The anger proves I am right and alone.

Jesus’s way

“I am sustained by the Love of God.” Identity, not a mood. The same sentence is true of them. That is not a self-esteem project. You are not more powerful than God, so you can rest.

This is the channeled portion — after Tina has read the lesson. Study notes of that sitting. Not a transcript.

  • I am sustained by the Love of God.
  • Not by the job, the body, or being right.
  • He is weaning you from the other fuel.
  • Review tomorrow will test whether this was a sentence or a source.

How to sit today

Part I · Undoing

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
Two longer sittings, morning and evening, plus often during the day
How long
Ten minutes twice
Through the day
Tell yourself this often. It is the answer to whatever confronts you today.

How

  1. Let the idea sink deep. Repeat it, think about it, let related thoughts come, and allow peace to flow over you. Do not fight idle thoughts — let them pass and return to the idea.
