Workbook · Part I
Lesson 101
God's Will for me is perfect happiness.
What this lesson is saying
Today’s idea is: “God's Will for me is perfect happiness.” In ordinary English: God’s will for you is happiness. Misery is not holiness.
Peace is treated as a prize after they change, after you win, after the picture improves. This lesson says peace is available instead of this — this spike, this news, this face. Happiness is not a mood you manufacture. Misery is not holiness.
You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.
This is not saying
This is not pretending you feel calm. You may still feel the wave. You stop waiting for the world to go first before you are allowed to rest.
Why this can change a day
If peace depends on them, they own your day. If peace is a way of looking, then a meeting, a kitchen, a text, and a self-judgment are all eligible. That is a different life, not a different philosophy.
In your day
Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.
With someone
Anger or fear is on — this spike, now — and you are about to rehearse the argument.
What to do
Say the words as written: “God's Will for me is perfect happiness.” Say the idea to the spike. Wait until the body drops half an inch. Then choose the next sentence from there. The caveat is the work.
Toward yourself
A family member’s tone, a look, a holiday remark — and the old file opens.
What to do
Say the words as written: “God's Will for me is perfect happiness.” The event can be remembered. The verdict can wait. One uncluttered look. Then speak as you normally would.
At work, at home, or in a situation
You want peace, and you also want them to feel it — peace and the war in the same hour.
What to do
Say the words as written: “God's Will for me is perfect happiness.” If you want peace and the grievance, you want the grievance. Name the extra: being right, being owed. Put it down. Keep a clear no.
Two voices in the same mind
Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.
Unloving thought
God’s will for me is sacrifice, or a test, or later. Happiness is suspicious. Unhappiness proves I am serious.
Jesus’s way
God’s Will for me is perfect happiness. Not a prize for good behavior. Unhappiness is a trained response. He is undoing the religion that made God a threat and happiness suspicious.

How to sit today
Part I · One Self
The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.
- How often
- Five minutes of each hour — the first five minutes of the hour when you can
- How long
- Five minutes
- Through the day
- Repeat the idea between sittings so the hour is not a desert.
- If you forget
- Lesson 95 is the rule for lapses: omit as few as possible, and do not let a lapse become a story that you have failed.
How
- Lesson 101 continues the five-minutes-an-hour training of this stretch. Begin with the idea, close your eyes, and let related thoughts come or simply rest in the sentence.
- If an hour is missed, return at the next one. Do not throw the day away because part of it was forgotten.

This lesson is practice in polarizing with the person in front of you. Service to others is not a slogan. It is whether you treat them as the same being you are.
