Lesson 78

Let miracles replace all grievances.

What this lesson is saying

“Let miracles replace all grievances.” Each decision in the mind is one or the other. A miracle here is a change of mind, not a prize and not a spectacle.

A grievance is any thought that they have wronged you, failed you, or should be different so you can rest — or that you are not enough. That thought is a shield. It hides the light that is already there in you and in them. The person you used as the target is the savior appointed for you: the one through whom you could put the shield down.

You do not have to feel loving. You have to stop raising the shield. Carry the idea to everyone you meet or remember today, including the small irritations.

This is not saying

This is not asking you to be friends, to stay in harm, or to say the event was fine. Keep any clear no. Replacement means the grievance and the miracle cannot share the same mind — not after they apologize, now.

Why this can change a day

The usual rule of a life is: I will be at peace when they change. This lesson says the opposite, and it is the hinge of the whole year. Peace, health, and a clear mind sit behind the grievance you are nurturing. When the grievance goes, they often stop triggering you because the trigger was a belief.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

The name that already crossed your mind — the one you still want to be different so you can rest.

    What to do

Hold their faults for a moment — the pain, the body, the “sins.” Then ask to see them as the savior appointed for you. Say: Let miracles replace all grievances. You do not have to feel loving. You have to stop raising the shield.

  2. In encounters

You meet someone, think of someone, or remember someone from the past — even a small irritation.

    What to do

Silently give them the role of savior. Say the idea. That is the whole day. A grievance is any thought that they have wronged you, failed you, or should be different so you can be at peace.

  3. Toward yourself

You catch your own face in a glass and start a case — failing, unholy, not enough.

    What to do

Same replacement. A grievance against yourself is still a grievance. Ask to see you without the shield. Then the next decent action.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

If they would change, I would be happy. This grievance is my shield. Without it I will not see the truth of them — I will be fooled. I already know their faults.

Jesus’s way

Let miracles replace all grievances. Each decision is a grievance or a miracle. A grievance is any thought that they have wronged you, failed you, or should be different so you can rest. It hides the light that is already there. The person you used as the target is the savior appointed for you.

  • The annoying person is the savior.
  • Grievances knock the mind off the frequency of love, so miracles cannot get through — a self-inflicted loss, not their behavior.
  • Peace, health, and knowledge sit behind the grievance you are nurturing.
  • You do not have to be friends.
  • When the grievance goes, they stop triggering you because the trigger was a belief.

How to sit today

Part I · Function

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
Two longer sittings, plus remember throughout the day with everyone you meet or think of
How long
Ten to fifteen minutes — the current longer-practice pattern
When shaken
A new grievance is not stored. It is today’s subject.

How

  1. Hold someone in mind first as you now consider them — faults, difficulties, pain, neglect, body, “sins.”
  2. Then ask of Him Who knows this Son of God in truth that you may look on him a different way. Let the Holy Spirit show you the savior in that role.
  3. Through the day, refuse to hide anyone’s light behind a grievance. That is the miracle replacing it.

  4. Say, slowly: “Let miracles replace all grievances.”

Short / hourly

Throughout the day with everyone you meet or think of

  2. Say, slowly: “Let miracles replace all grievances.”

When shaken

A new grievance is not stored. It is today’s subject

Ra

Ra would say: the mind/body/spirit complex meets catalyst. Service-to-self stores it as control and story. Service-to-others metabolizes it as love. A miracle is that metabolism happening faster than the ego's paperwork. Session 34 and 47 on catalyst, session 18 on the desire that polarizes, session 63 on the choice — this lesson is those, in one sentence.

Carla's life was this practice under psychic greeting, illness, and the ordinary friction of a working group. The instrument who holds a grievance cannot tune. Q'uo's long teaching on 'the one in front of you' is Lesson 78 in Confederation cadence: bless, and the light has a place to land.
