Lesson 96

Salvation comes from my one Self.

What this lesson is saying

Today’s idea is: “Salvation comes from my one Self.” In ordinary English: Saving happens from that one Self, not from a better private plan.

You are used to building a self from parents, work, the glass, the mood, the ranking of other people. This lesson says what you are was given, not achieved: as God created you, and so are they. That is not a compliment. It is a fact you practice when the other self-image is loud.

You do not have to believe it first. You use the words on one real judgment — of someone, of yourself, of a situation — and then you take the next ordinary step.

This is not saying

This is not a self-esteem project and not a claim that you are more powerful than God. You will not lose your personality. The sharp edges — the attack on you, the attack on them — can go.

Why this can change a day

If you are a private, failing self, then of course you must defend, compare, and prosecute. If you are as God created you, so is the one who irritated you, and the war has nothing left to stand on.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. With someone

A want outranks seeing this morning — being liked, being done, being right.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “Salvation comes from my one Self.” Rank it. If seeing is not first, the day will train the other want. Say the idea. Then the next honest thing.

  2. Toward yourself

The name that already crossed your mind — the one you still want to be different so you can rest.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “Salvation comes from my one Self.” You already know the name. Hold the case for a moment. Then ask to see them without the shield. Keep any clear no. You do not have to be friends.

  3. At work, at home, or in a situation

A text that did not come. You are already in court about what it means.

    What to do

Say the words as written: “Salvation comes from my one Self.” You are fighting a picture. Come back to this hour. If a fact must be asked, ask only the fact. Leave the case.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

First I want to be right, liked, finished. Seeing can wait until the picture is won.

Jesus’s way

“Salvation comes from my one Self.” Identity, not a mood. The same sentence is true of them. That is not a self-esteem project. You are not more powerful than God, so you can rest.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 96

Tina reads the official workbook lesson first. Then she channels. The video is the source. The notes below are study notes of that sitting — not a transcript, and not A Year of Forgiveness.

This is the channeled portion — after Tina has read the lesson. Study notes of that sitting. Not a transcript.

  • “Salvation comes from my one Self.” Salvation is not a later rescue and not a rapture.
  • It is the mind that stopped injuring itself with condemnation.
  • Today’s idea is that, in working clothes.

How to sit today

Part I · One Self

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
Hourly five-minute sittings
How long
Five minutes of each hour

How

  1. The five minutes are a search for Him Who is the bridge between your mind and your One Self. Salvation comes from that Self through Him.

Longer sitting

Five minutes of each hour — the first five minutes of the hour when you can

  1. Today’s idea is: “Salvation comes from my one Self.”
  2. Begin with the idea. Close your eyes. Let related thoughts come, or simply rest in the sentence.
  3. Say, slowly: “Salvation comes from my one Self.”
  4. If an hour is missed, return at the next one. Do not throw the day away because part of it was forgotten. Lesson 95 is the rule for lapses.

Short / hourly

Between sittings, so the hour is not a desert

  1. Say, slowly: “Salvation comes from my one Self.”

These scripts follow the workbook’s own method for this number — duration, frequency, and the sentences it asks you to use. They are a study paraphrase, not a replacement. Read the official lesson at acim.org and follow any wording it gives that is more specific than this card.

Ra

This lesson is practice in polarizing with the person in front of you. Service to others is not a slogan. It is whether you treat them as the same being you are.
