Lesson 9

I see nothing as it is now.

What this lesson is saying

“I see nothing as it is now.” Now is covered by a decision you already made about what this is — who they are, what this day will be, what you are.

You are not seeing the moment. You are seeing the verdict. Another way of looking requires admitting you have not looked yet. Belief is not required. One uncluttered look is already a shift.

This is not saying

This is not saying your eyes are broken. It is saying the judgment arrived before the look.

Why this can change a day

If the day is already decided at breakfast, no one you meet can be new, and you cannot be either. This lesson is permission to look again at the same world.

In your day

Same idea, three ordinary places — a relationship or encounter, the case against yourself, and a situation at work or at home. You do not need a special mood.

  1. In the morning

You walk a familiar room or street and the day is already judged.

    What to do

The day has not happened. Look at one actual thing, or one actual face, without the verdict. A minute. Then begin.

  2. With someone

You already know how this conversation will go.

    What to do

Say: I do not see this person as they are now. Wait one breath. Then look. Then speak.

  3. Toward yourself

You have already decided what you are today — behind, fine, doomed.

    What to do

That decision is covering now. Take it off. See what is actually here: this body, this task, this next kindness.

Two voices in the same mind

Hear which one is running. Then today’s idea, on a real person — or on you.

Unloving thought

I already know what this day will be, who they will be. Now is covered because I already judged it.

Jesus’s way

I see nothing as it is now — because now is covered. One uncluttered look is already a shift.

Jesus’s commentary for Lesson 9

Tina reads the official workbook lesson first. Then she channels. The video is the source. The notes below are study notes of that sitting — not a transcript, and not A Year of Forgiveness.

After the reading

In the video · Jesus speaking

This is the channeled portion — after Tina has read the lesson. Study notes of that sitting. Not a transcript.

  • Nothing as it is now — because now is covered.
  • He treats this as hygiene, not philosophy.
  • One uncluttered look is already a miracle-sized shift in frequency.

How to sit today

Part I · Undoing

The idea is above. This is the one sitting this number asks — how often, how long, and the words. Not a second lesson.

How often
Three or four practice periods are sufficient
How long
About one minute
Eyes
Open

How

  1. Look about you. Apply the idea to whatever you see, excluding nothing: “I do not see this ___ as it is now.”
  2. Start nearest you, then extend the range.

Longer sitting

Three or four sittings — about one minute

  1. Today’s idea is: “I see nothing as it is now.”
  2. Eyes open. Start nearest you, then extend the range. Exclude nothing.
  3. Say, slowly: “I do not see this [name it] as it is now.”

These scripts follow the workbook’s own method for this number — duration, frequency, and the sentences it asks you to use. They are a study paraphrase, not a replacement. Read the official lesson at acim.org and follow any wording it gives that is more specific than this card.

Love/light is the stuff of the octave. Seeing with God is not metaphor — it is a shift toward that spectrum. Meditation (session 10) is the daily tool.

A wanderer on Earth does not need a different lesson. She needs this one, done with her hands. Carla's whole archive is the proof: contact follows a life, it does not replace it.
