The Queen — the Egyptian name on the deck the group used
That which comes to the mind. People, beauty, attraction, the fertile, the problem that walks in. Neutral until used. Most of the day is this card, misnamed as “what they did.”

Meaning
Once Matrix and Potentiator can work, life offers material. Catalyst of the Mind is everything that arrives for thought and feeling: the email, the face, the desire, the insult, the child, the news. The Empress is not “a woman.” She is the richness of what can happen to a mind. Attraction is the easiest form to see; repulsion is the same function in another dress. The workbook’s early lessons exist because the mind glues meaning onto this figure and then suffers the glue.
What the picture is doing
A seated fertility, nature, a sceptre, sometimes many small scenes of what can happen. Do not hunt symbols. Feel arrival. Something has come. You have not yet decided what it is for.
What Ra asked to keep
In plain words
Keep
- Polarity of incoming catalyst: the not-white, not-dark square; the glance to one side (93.7–9).
- Wingèd creature: the complex beginning its flight toward the Logos (93.10).
- Sphere of spiritual power: every opportunity is pregnant with magical possibility (93.18).
- Crux ansata: the eternal in and through manifestation (93.23).
- Serpents: wisdom. In the positive sense they appear at indigo; in the negative, at the solar plexus (93.21–22).
- Clothing’s transparency: the veil is semi-permeable (93.19–20).
Release
- Letters and stars (96.20).
- Little cups around the sun’s rays (96.20).
- Wand — astrological; release it (93.18).
- Cups as strict objects — original image is the abiding sun shining in protection over catalyst (93.8–9).
In a life
The message you have not answered. A colleague’s tone. Weather. A craving. A headline. A familiar face. All Empress. The named “cause” of your mood is almost never the actual one — it is catalyst, waiting to be Experience.
Service-to-others
Receive. Do not attack the arriving. Use it to love. Lesson 5: you are never upset for the reason you think. That sentence is this card, handled.
Service-to-self
Treat arriving people as supply. Collect beautiful catalyst and hoard it. Or refuse all arrival so nothing can change you. Control of the Empress is the first tyranny.
How to sit
Name three things that arrived today. Do not interpret yet. That is Catalyst, unspoiled. Interpretation is the next card.
Speak this hour with this picture: tarot sitting.
Course
Lessons 1–7, 5, 34. Meaning is given by the mind, not by the Empress. Forgiveness is the right use of whatever walked in.

Whoever is actually in the room is the Empress, daily. Do not spiritualize a stranger and attack the one in front of you.

The group’s catalyst was illness, money, Don’s questions. They used it or it used them. There was no third option.

This pair · what happened + what I made of it
Am I still arguing with the event, or can I see the structure I built?
Empress is the arriving (people, feeling). Emperor is the building you made from it — a case, a plan, a kindness, a throne. The event is not the meaning. Your structure is.

This is what shows up. Empress: people and feeling. Wheel: luck, timing, the turn of events. Star: a hope you cannot pocket. None of these is your grade. They are food. The next row is what you made of them.
