Meaning
The Significator of the Body is the living person — not the unused vehicle (Justice) but the one hanging in time, committed to a view. The inversion is the veil: what looks like sacrifice is often the only honest picture of incarnation. You volunteered for this angle. Wanderers feel the rope more. The card is not a command to suffer. It is a report: you are here, limited, looking. Polarize from here. Do not wait to be cut down first.
What the picture is doing
A figure hanging by one foot, calm, halo sometimes, the world reversed. Consent, not capture. If it looks like punishment, you are reading it as the ego.
For every card: drop rim letters and stars. Astrology was later dressing. What to take off.
In a life
A shift you cannot leave yet. Parenting. A mortgage. A body that will not do what a younger one did. Incarnation has terms. The Hanged Man has already agreed. The Choice is how you hang — as love, or as a grievance against the rope.
Service-to-others
Willing limitation as service. Jesus as this card without the theology of payment. Remaining.
Service-to-self
Martyrdom as currency. Or bitterness at having a body. Both are the significator refusing its own incarnation.
How to sit
Notice one limit you resent. See it as the classroom you entered. Then one kindness inside the limit. That is the card in use.
Speak this hour with this picture: tarot sitting.
Course
I am as God created me — even hanging. The body is not the Self, and the hanging is not a punishment from God.

Stay in it. Wake in it. The overlay is thick and not true. You still live the ordinary day.

A Wanderer’s Handbook is this card in prose. She remained an instrument on a loud planet until the body was done.

Is this sacrifice a gift, or a way to be owed?
The Hanged Man plus The Fool. Giving the body over can be love. It can also be a debt you will collect later. The Choice sorts them.

This row is you as you are this hour — the one who will vote. Hierophant: a mind that can bless or rule. Hanged Man: a body that can give, or collect a debt. Sun: light that warms the room, or a spotlight on you. Pair each with The Fool. That pairing is the exam.
